BEHIND BLUEHOUR
Erica Shaw, MBA
Founder & Principal Consultant
Erica Shaw founded Bluehour Consulting after more than a decade working inside organizations — in professional services, healthcare administration, and the nonprofit sector — in roles that were fundamentally about helping teams build the capacity to do their best work. The through line wasn't a particular industry. It was the work of figuring out why things weren't running as well as they could, and doing something about it.
The approach draws on Lean Six Sigma methodology, operational analytics, and systems design — but the real value comes from having been inside enough different organizations to know that the frameworks only get you so far. What matters is understanding the specific context: the team, the history, the constraints, and what the organization is actually capable of. Bluehour works with clients who want someone who will think alongside them, not just hand them a report.
Bluehour was founded on the belief that small and midsize organizations deserve the same caliber of strategic support as large enterprises — delivered with the personal attention and contextual nuance that only an independent consultancy can provide
discovery & onboarding process
1
Discovery Call
An introductory conversation about your organization’s current state, priorities, and where additional operational support may be useful. The goal is mutual: to understand whether there is a fit and what working together could look like.
2
Custom Proposal
If it makes sense to move forward, Bluehour prepares a proposal outlining the recommended scope, timeline, and investment. Each proposal is shaped around the work at hand, rather than a standard package.
3
Formalize Engagement
Once the engagement is confirmed, Bluehour gets oriented quickly and begins the work. Onboarding is intentionally light, with the focus on understanding the context, clarifying next steps, and becoming useful as soon as possible.sible.
